A limiting belief is a thinking error.

- I’m overweight because my family is overweight, and you can’t fight genetics.

I need to eat starchy carbohydrates with every meal. The fact is that if you eat more than 2 ounces of pasta, bread, rice, or similar starchy carbohydrates, you’ll create an insulin surge that can block fat loss.
I need to drink milk after I exercise. On the average 30-minute run, a person will burn around 350 calories, depending upon their size and weight. Having a glass of milk, especially one that is sweetened, may contain 400 calories. Guess what just happened? You lost all of the benefits you just gained.
I should not be exercising if I am tired. We generally associate aerobic exercise with working out, especially when talking about weight loss. If you feel tired, try taking a Yoga class. Do some weight lifting. Remind yourself that you will feel better after you get some exercise in.

Maybe your issue is with boredom eating. Just adjust the positive affirmation to reflect the exact issue you feel is holding you back.

You can even use the positive affirmations to address specific limiting beliefs you have encountered during your period of self-examination.
These affirmations work because you are acknowledging the problem you are facing with your weight loss.
At the same time, you are permitting yourself to experience a layer of self-acceptance, even though the problem may still be present.
If this phrase doesn’t seem to work well for you, different variations will still get you into a place you want to be.
Just make sure the affirmations you choose include verbiage that says you love and accept yourself.
What makes this combination such a powerful way to support a decision to pursue weight loss is that it rewires your brain.
It doesn’t matter if you don’t believe the affirmation example above will work.
Just say it. Then repeat it. Over time, your mind will begin to believe it.
