They are a small portion of the building blocks that have composed the human brain.
Brain waves are generated by the individual neuron cells that communicate with each other via electrical changes.
When these electrical changes are measured, they are measured in cycles per second.
That’s where the “wave” terminology came into being – when these changes are placed into visual form, the frequencies will actually form a wave.
What Distinguishes ALPHA BRAIN WAVES?
Alpha brain waves are by definition between the frequencies of 8 Hertz [Hz] & 12 Hz.
Though sometimes they can be found exclusively in the right hemisphere of the brain, it is more common to see alpha brain waves connecting both the left and right hemispheres of the brain.
These brain waves appear during times of relaxation or creativity.
Essentially, if you are working on relaxing in some way, you are working on the generation of alpha brain waves within your mind.
ALPHA BRAIN WAVES Are the Safest to Entrain
Many of the positive emotions that we think about having get generated by alpha brain waves.
On the other hand, many of the negative emotions that we experience get generated from our beta brain waves as we deal with the stresses of the day.
It’s important to give the mind a break, which is why it’s important to recognize that it is possible to entrain the brain to generate alpha waves.
It’s a simple way to help your brain… and the rest of your body relax.
Did you know that people who tend to be extroverted also tend to have more alpha waves?
Scientists believe that outgoing people have up to 3 times the amount of alpha brain waves as introverted people do.
Is it easy to get yourself to be more outgoing? Of course not.
Is there a benefit in working through the issues you may have so you can experience more alpha waves? Absolutely.
There are other ways to help entrain your brain to produce more alpha waves too.
It’s All About the Rhythm
Alpha brain waves are quite rhythmical.
They make you feel content, relaxed, and happy.
When you’re experiencing them, you are able to tune out the world that’s around you and focus on your own happiness.
Your own wellbeing. Your own relaxation.
That’s what makes alpha waves such a great thing to experience!
The brain needs time to be able to relax.
It must have it.
If you are not taking time out of the day to let the alpha waves work their magic, you’re going to start feeling worn down.
You’re going to feel tired.
When you feel tired, you get even fewer alpha brain waves.
It’s a vicious cycle that keeps repeating itself over and over again.
It’s not about taking time out for yourself when you feel stressed out.
It’s about always making sure that you take some time for yourself.
When you are in prayer or meditation, you are experiencing alpha brain waves.
When you close your eyes and listen to some of your favorite music, you are working on your alpha waves.
You can also entrain your brain to hear certain tones and produce alpha waves.
The real question, however, is why.
Why should you attempt to increase the output of alpha brain waves in your mind?
The answer is simple. Because you can experience these benefits:
- lower pulse rate,
- lower blood pressure,
- better digestion,
- deeper muscle relaxation, and
- more oxygen within your blood.
Could You Use More ALPHA BRAIN WAVES
With dedication and practice, you bring your mind to the place where it can produce these alpha waves for you.
You can also choose a select brain wave entrainment program that can help your mind be able to accomplish what you need it to accomplish.
You can spend time in meditation or prayer.
What is important is that you choose to do something to help your mind relax.
After all, a stressed out mind is an unhealthy and unproductive mind.
