For example, some people might use affirmations that address their relationship to food whereas others will be more drawn to those related to exercise or self-care in general.

Then, get clear on how you will use them. Create a plan for how you will work these affirmations into your life and set alarms on your phone as reminders if you need to.

First, take some time to explore your intentions for losing weight. Why do you wish for weight loss?

Our intentions can vary and are often complex. Regardless, see if you can connect with your deepest intentions. Perhaps you long to feel more energized or you want to improve your health. Ground yourself in the intentions you hold that are born from a place of love.

Prioritize a new mindset.

Celebrate your wins.

As you move through life with your new mindset, celebrate all of your wins, both large and small. For instance, let’s say you turn down dessert at lunch after checking in with your body and realizing it didn’t want it. Congratulate yourself for this.

It is not always easy to act in alignment with our body’s deepest wishes. Likewise, if you notice that you’ve started to talk to yourself with kinder words, celebrate this small shift. Doing so will help to reaffirm your new mindset and your new way of relating to yourself.

Be patient with your progress.

Finally, it is important to harness patience for this journey. Many people wish to manifest weight loss fast, but the truth is that good things (and sustainable things) happen over time.

You can increase your capacity for patience by reminding yourself that you are already enough – that you do not need to change in order to be deserving of your own love. Take a deep breath, surrender to the process, and love yourself right where you are.

Visualization is another powerful way to make use of the law of attraction. If we cannot envision what we want, it will be more difficult to achieve it.

Visualization clarifies what it is we long for and helps us to connect surface yearnings (i.e. weight loss) with our deeper intentions (i.e. increased wellbeing).

The following visualization for weight loss script will help you to connect with your deepest intentions for weight loss.

It will establish imagery that will support you on your journey. You can practice this as often as you’d like to. Read through it before closing your eyes and beginning your practice.

  1. Take a moment to find a comfortable place to sit. Set a timer for five minutes and then lengthen your spine, drop your shoulders, and close your eyes. Take a few long breaths to settle in.

  2. Next, consider where you would like to be in your weight loss journey at some point in the future (i.e. three months or six months from now).

  3. With your eyes closed, begin to visualize not just what you wish for your physical body to look like at this time but also how you would move and how you would feel. Tune into both the imagery and the embodied energy of this visualization.

  4. Breathe mindfully, letting any physical tension soften. Be mindful of any critical or skeptical thoughts. Simply notice the thoughts that arise and then return to the visualization.

  5. Allow yourself to really play with this imagery. There are no limits. Notice what this imagery feels like in your body and allow the energy of inspiration to flow freely through you.

  6. Continue visualizing your future self until the timer rings. Turn off the alarm and take a few breaths to ground yourself back into your body. Close your practice by repeating one of your positive weight loss affirmations to yourself three times.

When using a visualization for weight loss, it is important to remember that this practice should be rooted in a place of love.

In other words, we can affirm that we are enough as we are – fully worthy as we are – and that our desire to lose weight is due to deep care for our health and wellbeing.

While weight loss can indeed be a sensitive subject for many, we can bring lightness and joy to the journey by remembering to have fun.
