Monday Affirmations [Positive & Powerful to Start Your Day & Week on the Right Foot]

Who likes Mondays? I suppose if you asked people whether they like Mondays or not, most would tell you that they hate Mondays! Why is that so?

After a two-day break nobody wants to start a new week because a new week means going back to work or school and very often doing different things that people don’t feel like doing, but they have to for the next 5 days.

There’s a term Sunday Scaries which refers to the feeling of anxiety and dread that usually appears on Sunday afternoon or evening. People experience this because they know that tomorrow morning they will have to come back to their responsibilities and they will have to face different challenges in the coming week.

Another term is the Monday Blues and refers to negative feelings that some people experience at the beginning of the work week.

Some causes of the Monday blues include job dissatisfaction or work-related stress, and symptoms tend to be similar to those of stress. Other indicators include increased heart rate, headaches, and tense muscles. Source

What can you do about it? Is there something that could help you stop feeling bad on Sundays and make you like not hate Monday mornings again?

Repeating affirmations can be helpful here, but if they don’t work for you then you will need to make some changes in your life in order to improve your situation such as, e.g. change your job. You can also talk to a therapist, a psychologist or to someone you trust and can confide in.   

If you decide to try out affirmations though remember that you need to do it consistently for, say, at least 30 days. Why so long you might ask?

Repeating affirmations is like exercising. You don’t develop big muscles after a week of working out. You need to train them a few times a week for a longer period of time. It’s the same with affirmations. If you want them to start working and changing your subconscious mind, then you need to repeat them consistently. Consistency is the key!

In my opinion, if Mondays are a real problem for you, you have to do something about it because this problem won’t magically vanish – Mondays will never disappear from the calendar. You need to deal with it and I think the easiest thing you can do is start practicing affirmations!   

Taking Action

Repeating affirmations is OK, just like it’s good to practice manifesting or the law of attraction, but it’s always best to combine these practices with taking action – actually it’s necessary.  

So what can you do, apart from just repeating affirmations, to make your Monday mornings less stressful?

- prepare your meals either for just Monday or the whole week on Sunday

- get up earlier on Monday morning so that you have more time to get ready for work or school and you don’t feel stressed

- decide on Sunday what you want to wear on Monday morning

- sleep long enough on Sunday night so that you wake up fresh the next day (sleep is very important for your well-being)

- make sure you know what needs to get done on Monday, so plan ahead

How to Improve Your Affirmations Practice

Affirmations can be very effective on their own, but there are a few things you can try out to make your affirmations even more effective. It’s not necessary, but sometimes can help a great deal.

How Many Affirmations Should You Repeat Daily?

Pick 2-3 that you like and focus on them. You need to “feel” these affirmations when you say them, they should resonate with you and evoke good feelings in you.

And it’s always best to create your own affirmations – they will be the most effective for you.  

Monday Morning Affirmations

1. This is going to be a great and productive day. 

2. It’s going to be a beautiful day. 

3. Today I will accomplish all tasks that I have planned. 

4. It’s a new day and a new week. A lot of opportunities are waiting for me! 

5. I am happy because it’s another Monday today.

6. I’m motivated, inspired and passionate. This is going to be a great day.  

7. I am full of energy. Today I’m going to be a winner. 

8. I will achieve all Monday’s goals today. 

9. I will be successful at anything I do today! 

10. I feel very powerful. I can do today anything I want to. 

11. I won’t waste a minute of this great day!  

12. This is going to be my day!

13. I love Monday mornings.

14. I start this day with a smile and a positive attitude. 

15. My hard work today will pay off. 

Positive Affirmations For Monday & a New Week

1. I inhale courage, strength and positive energy and exhale my fears and anxiety. 

2. I will make the most of this Monday and the whole week.

4. Nothing can throw me off balance. I’m ready for everything. 

5. Monday is my friend and I’m not afraid of it anymore. 
6. I’m brave and ready for everything. Nothing can surprise me.

8. I’m not thinking any negative thoughts today. I’m focusing only on my work.
